Meet Dr. Mark W. Chunn

Dr. Chunn has been practicing dentistry for 36 years since graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1988. He has actually been involved in dentistry for 45 years now, having spent the previous years as a dental laboratory technician before moving on to dental school in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1984, Dr. Chunn earns his B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology from West Texas State University before completing his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the prestigious University of Texas dental school. While there, Dr. Chunn performed biomedical research in the departments of Periodontics and Endodontics where he was twice awarded research fellowship grants from the International Association for Dental Research.

His interests as a professional have spanned from nutrition to pediatrics to complex occlusal issues. His current practice in Batesville, Arkansas allows him to focus on comprehensive care with an emphasis on cosmetics, sedation, and preventive dentistry through education. He taught soft tissue management for over 23 years.

Dr. Chunn continually is upgrading his education partially through memberships with the of American Dental Association, Arkansas Dental Association, and Northeast District Dental Association. He has also been a member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Chunn has 5 children. Being a former professional water-skier, he loves spending time on the lake when not in the office. He also enjoys mountain climbing, scuba diving and traveling. His travels have taken him to many parts of world including several  dental mission trips to remote villages in Guatemala.
